Lufthansa said it will order 30 Embraer-190s and 15 Bombardier CRJ-900s to enlarge its fleet of regional aircraft, the German airline said on Tuesday. Lufthansa, which now has 145 regional aircraft, said the order was worth around $1.7 billion based on list prices.

Once sealed, the Embraer contract will supercede an existing agreement between it and Swiss International Air Lines for 15 Embraer 170s and 15 Embraer 195s.
