Martinair to Launch Weekly Roundtrip Service to Aruba this Summer

On commencement of the forthcoming 2007 summer season, Martinair will launch weekly roundtrip service to Aruba. The summer season starts on March 25. The scheduled weekly flight will depart on Sundays and make an intermediate stopover in Curacao on the homebound leg.
Aruba has become increasingly popular amongst Dutch tourists in recent times. Tour operators with whom Martinair cooperates intensively indicated that passenger demand for this Caribbean destination has increased. This ties in well with Martinair’s plans to develop scheduled services for tour operators offering package tours and consumers booking tickets.
Martinair operated flights to Aruba until the 2002 winter season. Flights to the destination were suspended in that year because of the former connection via Miami, which led to inefficient crew deployment, coupled with diminished interest.
