Martinique Makes Strong Push to Boost Visitors from North America

Seeking to boost its visitor arrivals from North America during the 2014-2015 peak winter travel season, the Martinique Tourism Authority is hosting four editions of The Martinique Magnifique Travel Show in the key gateway cities of Montreal, Toronto, New York, and Miami.

A fun and informative event attracting more than 100 top travel industry professionals in each city, the Martinique Magnifique Travel Show serves as the definitive annual update on all that The Isle of Flowers has to offer cruise and stay-over visitors.

“Martinique enjoyed a strong winter season last year, with 455,000 total stay-over visitors during the November 2013–April 2014 period representing an increase of 18%,” said Karine Roy-Camille, commissioner of the Martinique Tourism Authority. “Nearly 80% of those visitors came from France and Europe, though, illustrating that we have a tremendous opportunity to continue growing the North America market to meet our goal of 1 million visitors by 2020.”

A delegation comprised of stakeholders representing various aspects of the Martinique tourism product was on hand at each Martinique Magnifique Travel Show event to provide up-to-date news and information on their product.
