Mexicana Airlines Ceases All Flights Indefinitely

Mexico's transportation secretary said debt-ridden carrier Mexicana de Aviacion is halting all operations. Juan Francisco Molinar Horcasitas told reporters the struggling airline ceased all flights and other activity as of last Friday at midnight.

Mexicana filed for bankruptcy protection in Mexico and the United States on Aug. 2 while seeking to restructure its costs. It later stopped selling tickets and suspended some flights.
