Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit Sets New Tourism Developments
Riviera Nayarit, Mexico’s fastest growing new tourism destination, announced a variety of new tourism developments. Riviera Nayarit is building a new, comprehensive highway system.
Construction has begun on a major, multi-million dollar road building project designed to provide modern infrastructure to strengthen the region’s tourism industry. Involving nine road segments between Tepic and Bucerias as well as viaducts and 40 bridges, the system will positively impact at least 44 high-level tourism developments, including six golf courses and four marinas.
According to Ney Gonzalez Sanchez, governor of the state of Nayarit, the first segment of highway will be built between Tepic and San Blas, a stretch of 21 miles that will shorten driving time to about 20 minutes.
The St. Regis brand adds to the luxury reputation of Riviera Nayarit. The St. Regis Punta Mita is scheduled to open October 2008 and will feature 120 guest rooms and suites.
