More Options for Canadians as Barbados Welcomes WestJet
WestJet Airlines will mark its inaugural visit to Barbados on November 3, 2008. The service, which is scheduled to fly between Toronto and Barbados, will make four stops to the island on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Senior Business Development Manager of the Barbados Tourism Authority’s (BTA) Toronto office, Cheryl Carter, welcomes the occasion of this new service, emphasizing that WestJet will now broaden all options for prospective Canadian travelers to the island.
“Barbados is pleased to welcome the new WestJet air service from Canada this year. Canadians now have a choice of scheduled flights with daily Air Canada services and WestJet, which will operate four times a week from November.” Carter also reiterates that the service will aid in maintaining continued growth in the Western Canadian market.
“We expect that this will augur well for Barbados as a destination and will significantly enhance Barbados’ presence in the market, especially in Western Canada, where we have seen double digit growth over the past three years,” she explained.
