MSC Cruises’ MSC Poesia will arrive in Fort Lauderdale on Nov. 27 to begin a winter series of cruises throughout the Caribbean as well as to Bermuda. The ship will sail roundtrip itineraries to the Eastern, Southern and Western Caribbean as well as Bermuda through April 20.

Two new ports are included in the program -- Bonaire and Dominica. New shore excursions include “Mexican Cuisine Workshop and Tasting” in Cozumel, where guests can learn how to prepare some traditional recipes of the region; a yoga experience at Papillote Wilderness Retreat in Dominica; and a visit to the Caribbean School of Jewelry in Cartagena, Colombia, to learn to make jewelry with emeralds.

Kids ages 11 and under sail free and kids ages 12 to 17 sail at a reduced rate on all MSC Cruises’ itineraries when sharing a stateroom with two full-fare-paying adults with early booking fares; government fees and taxes are additional for each guest.

Activity leaders organize age-appropriate fun activities, with ages 3 to 6 in the Mini Club, 7 to 11 in the Juniors Club, 12 to 14 in the Y Team and 15 to 17 in the MSC Generation Teen Club. Kids’ menus feature pasta, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs and pastries and desserts.

The 2012-13 Caribbean season includes several “Baseball Greats” theme cruises with greats of the game, such as New York Yankees pitcher Stan Bahnsen, Kansas City Royals star Cookie Rojas and Cincinnati Reds star Ken Griffey Jr. “Baseball Greats” are featured on the following sailings: Dec. 11, 10-night Southern Caribbean; Feb. 9, Feb. 23 and March 9, seven-night Eastern Caribbean; and April 6, seven-night “Colors of the Caribbean.”
