MSC to Sail First Canada-New England Cruises in 2010
MSC Cruises’ North American expansion will continue in 2010, with the line operating its first series of Canada and New England sailings.
The Italian cruise line, which has a stronghold in the Mediterranean, has expanded its Caribbean presence this year with the addition of the 2,550-passenger MSC Orchestra. It also said that it would send one of its new-built ships, the 2,550-passenger MSC Magnifica, on fall foliage cruises from both New York and Quebec in fall 2010.
The Magnifica, sister to the Orchestra, is currently under construction and scheduled to debut in March 2010. The vessel will operate five seven- to 10-day sailings in Canada and New England, before repositioning to the Caribbean for the following winter season.
