Orizonia Unions to Huddle with General Labor Division on Monday

Trade unions representing downtrodden Spain-based group Orizonia will meet Monday with the General Labor Division in an effort to hasten the Employment Regulation File that could eventually make employees have fast-tracked access to possible benefits for furloughed workers.
Union sources said that following the technical meeting on Thursday between the lawyers representing the employees and the Carlyle Group –the company’s owner- a decision was made to contact the General Labor Division to schedule a meeting.
Trade union leaders are pushing hard to get the Employment Regulation File as soon as possible even though the number of employees hit by the company’s closing remains undisclosed.
Orizonia employees gathered last Friday in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism in Madrid to call for the engagement of the public sector in this situation and demand the Carlyle Group to take on its responsibilities.
