Over 84,000 Mexicans Visited Cuba in 2013

About 84,701 Mexican tourists have visited Cuba last year, Alicia Perez, tourism counselor at the island's embassy here, said.

Perez told Prensa Latina that Mexico is one of the countries that grow more in tourist issuing market to the Caribbean country, with 8.1 percent of growth.

The expert stated that her country experts to reach 100,000 Mexican tourists this year, in correspondence with the close ties between both peoples.

About this issue, she said the Cuban tourism will expand the promotion of its destinations, air transportation will increase, and its attractive offer will diversify.

With that purpose, several modalities such as historic and heritage circuits, the events linked to culture and diving, as well as sailing, cruise industry, and health tourism, will be promoted.

The island has much to offer, gorgeous beaches, 14 national parks, six world biosphere reserves, and 236 protected areas. Also on the list are golf courses, marines, dolphin aquariums, and aquatic centers, among other attractions.

During Holy Week, in addition of daily flights to Cuba, from Cubana de Aviacion, Aeromexico and Interjet airlines, other charter flights from Aeromexico, with direct flights from Monterrey and Mexico City, will be included.
