The first Puerto Rico Tourism Investment Conference will take place December 4 and 5 in San Juan, hosted by the Puerto Rico Tourism Co., the Puerto Rico Hotel Association, the Economic Development and Commerce Agency and the Economic Development Bank of Puerto Rico, among others.

Conference planners expect to attract more than 800 participants, investors and developers from 130 countries.

Discussion topics will include Puerto Rico’s strategic tourism plan to double the island’s hotel room inventory (to 14,000 rooms) and to generate $43.26 billion in new investment, both by 2011 through a real estate development catalogue. Also on the docket are discussions on new investment financial incentives and a more streamlined permit process.
