Q & A with Fabrice Widmer, Director of Promotion and Sales for Gray Line Ecuador

Gray Line, which attended this year Moscow’s Leisure Fair, recently introduced a new program to the Russian market for the Galapagos, and one of its representatives in Ecuador talked to Caribbean News Digital about it.

What is this Galapagos program all about?
We realized it was necessary to open a program like this one for American and Russian markets, as they like having other choices for travelers to go to the Galapagos for several days in a Hotel & Yacht mode: every packages include transportation and when passengers arrive in early in the morning on the direct flight to the islands, the kick off the tour right away. Tours continue next day through Charles Darwin Station, on Santa Cruz isle, or Garrapatero beach, for instance. These programs aim at those people who don’t want to go on cruisers for five or eight days and they prefer lower fares.

Do you have any airline operating the Moscow-Ecuador route?
We’ve created this program considering LAN Ecuador’s routes, which travel to Moscow, Madrid and Quito, allowing passengers to reach the Enchanted Galapagos islands.

How many Russian travelers have you received?
We received over 1,000 Russian passengers last year, that’s the reason why we now count on a specialized department in the Russian market, with Russian-language guides and programs, which allow us providing an excellent service for passengers and the number of travel agencies working with us in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Ukraine.
