Riviera Maya will reach a 70% hotel occupation with the arrival of European tourists during the month of October.
“We are having a significant increase in visitors, mainly from Great Britain, Russia and other European countries“, said Dario Flota Ocampo , Director of the Tourism Promotion Trust (FPTRM).
According to a bulletin issued by the Tourism Promotion Trust (FPTRM), approximately 42,000 Britain citizens arrived to the Mexican Caribbean during the month of October 2012, and this number is expected to be higher this year.
Tourists from the UK usually stay in the region for 15 days on average, with an expense of 2,700 euros per person.
On the other hand, nearly 100,000 Russian tourists are expected to arrive to the Riviera Maya during October, November and December 2013, these travelers have an even higher purchasing power.

On November, events of great importance will take place in Cancún, Playa del Carmen, the Riviera Maya and Tulum, such as the Day of the Death Traditional Festival, the Mayakoba Golf Classic (only Golf Tournament approved by the PGA in Mexico), and the popular Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, all of which will generate a high impact in terms of income and touristic promotion for the State of Quintana Roo.

“There is no doubt that these events will be the prelude to the upcoming Winter Season, which will be strong, as it is expected a 95% occupancy, and tourist activity numbers higher than any other year,” Director Flota Ocampo concluded.
