Royal Caribbean Mega-Ship to Have Four Nightclubs
Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas will feature a nightclub district called Entertainment Place, the line revealed last week. Venues will include Blaze, Jazz on 4, Comedy Live and Dazzles. Dazzles, a two-deck dance club, will host musically themed evenings, dance lessons and competitions.
The comedy club’s decor was inspired by a New York subway station, featuring an underground theme with casual furnishings, glazed tiling and a ceiling map of the subway system, said Royal Caribbean.
The jazz club, inspired by prohibition-era Chicago, will feature walnut paneling, plush sofas and chairs, and velvet drapes accented with hand-stitched Swarovski crystals, said the line.
Blaze will “deliver the quintessential nightclub experience where guests can dance the night away to pulsating music in a hip and trendy atmosphere,” Royal Caribbean said.
The Opal Theater, the ship’s 1,380-seat main theater, will have a thrust stage and proscenium extending into the audience space. “Entertainers will make their entrances from unexpected locations around the venue and perform aerial acrobatics enveloping audience members in an experience which unfolds around and above them,” Royal Caribbean said.
The Casino Royale will offer the usual machines and table games, plus a poker room. One of the walkways leading to the casino will feature the Museum of Gaming, where guests can learn the history of the games of chance they play. The 16-deck, 5,400-passenger Oasis of the Seas will make its debut in November 2009.
