Spain’s Costa del Sol Attending Great Challenge in Berlin

The Costa del Sol tourist board is attending the ITB travel fair in Berlin to attract more German visitors to the area.

The Gran Desafio (Great Challenge) hiking challenge, which includes the Gran Senda (a route covering much of the province of Malaga), the Senda Litoral coastal path and the Caminito del Rey mountain trail near El Chorro, are present as the main new year-round attraction.

Golf and health tourism are the other two pillars the Costa aims to build its offer around at the fair in an aim to encourage Germans to travel to Malaga province at all times of year rather than just in the summer.

Always Warm, the most ambitious advertising campaign in the coast’s history, will be launched to coincide with the fair, running from March 4-8, and will cover Berlin taxis in invitations to experience the benign climate and attractions of the Costa.
