Spirit to Offer Fort Lauderdale-St. Maarten Route

Spirit Airlines, the American carrier, isn’t letting up on its route expansion, which is growing faster than the list of 2008 presidential wannabes for the White House.

On top of recent announcements of service from its Fort Lauderdale hub to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the carrier said it will launch nonstop service three times a week from Fort Lauderdale to St. Maarten on April 20.

Flights will operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and will depart Fort Lauderdale at 11 a.m., arriving in St. Maarten at 1:50 p.m. On the return leg, the flights will leave at 2:40 p.m., arriving in Fort Lauderdale at 5:55 p.m.
