Spirit Seeks Approval for Fort Lauderdale-Caracas Service

Spirit Airlines wants to get the green light from the U.S. Transportation Department to let the low-cost, low-fare carrier start daily service between Fort Lauderdale in Florida and Venezuela’s Caracas.Spirit told the U.S. Department of Transportation it plans to kick off the service with A319 aircraft by April 1 and wants to begin selling tickets for it “as soon as possible.”
