TIA Could Change Its Name
The Travel Industry Association is weighing a name change to U.S. Travel Association. Board members have recommended adoption of the move, suggested by a steering committee, and the leadership is now seeking comment from members about the proposed new identity.
TIA President Roger Dow said in a letter to members that the new moniker “would never be shortened to the acronym USTA, but would only be shortened to ‘U.S. Travel’ in order to avoid confusion with the former government entity USTTA or the U.S. Tennis Association.”
Dow is asking for member feedback by Sept. 8, after which the matter will be put to a vote by the full board.
