Two Barbados Fishermen Rescued by Carnival Liner

Two Barbados fishermen are counting their blessings today, after being rescued by Carnival Fascination. They sent out distress calls after their small boat ran out of fuel.
Fortunately, at approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday night, Carnival Fascination was able to respond. The men were adrift at sea, some 25 nautical miles from Barbados.
The two men, ages 43 and 51, were taken aboard Carnival Fascination. They received medical care, a hot meal, and accommodations. They were also able to call their families.
Carnival Fascination is in St. Lucia today, where the men will disembark. The ship then continues a seven-day Caribbean cruise that departed San Juan on August 26. Carnival Fascination isn’t the only Carnival Cruise Line ship to perform heroics of late.
Carnival Glory rescued a crew member from another cruise line adrift at sea north of Cuba and, on September 13, the captain of Carnival Elation will be honored by the Association for Rescue at Sea (AFRAS) in Washington, DC for his team’s role in rescuing a fisherman whose vessel had sunk off the coast of Freeport, Bahamas during Hurricane Irma.
