The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism has welcomed a new US Airways weekly nonstop flight from Charlotte, NC to St Croix on Saturdays.

Service on this nonstop route was originally scheduled to return to the island on December 15, but it commenced more than a month early on November 10, offering additional opportunities for travel to the destination.

This new direct flight complements US Airways’ existing flights to St Croix and allows travelers to connect from the airline’s hubs in Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.

In support of the new service, the Department of Tourism is also working closely with US Airways to coordinate mainland media and travel agent events planned for early 2008.
