US Airways announces the recall of more than 200 flight attendants effective February 15, 2008. The recalls are being initiated to ramp up for the busy summer schedule and to compensate for retirement and attrition.

Notices are being issued to eligible employees beginning today on a seniority basis among furloughed US Airways flight attendants. Since merging with America West in
2005, US Airways has recalled 330 flight attendants.

“We are thrilled to welcome these employees back to a new, more financially stable airline with a bright future ahead of it,” said US Airways President Scott Kirby. “They rejoin a strong team of approximately 7,000 US Airways flight attendants who do an absolutely fantastic job taking care of our customers.”

These newly recalled flight attendants will be assigned across five crewmember bases: Boston, Charlotte, N.C., Washington D.C. - Reagan., New York City - LaGuardia and Philadelphia.

US Airways is the fifth largest domestic airline employing more than 36,000 aviation professionals worldwide. US Airways, US Airways Shuttle and US Airways Express operate approximately 3,800 flights per day and serve more than 230 communities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.
