US Signs Open Skies Agreement with St. Kitts
The United States has signed an Open Skies Air Transportation agreement with St. Kitts and Nevis which both parties say will liberalize their bilateral aviation relationship.
Open skies is an international policy concept that calls for the liberalization of rules and regulations on international aviation industry, opening a free market for the airline industry.
Its primary objectives are to liberalize the rules for international aviation markets and minimize government intervention.
The US State department said the agreement will strengthen and expand the already strong trade and tourism links, with the Caribbean country and will benefit businesses and travelers.
Meanwhile, the United States said it has concluded bilateral Open Skies agreements with 106 partners that spread across every region of the world, including the Caribbean.
