WestJet to Fly to Dominican East Coast, Marketwire Says

WestJet today announced the introduction of seasonal nonstop service to two new international sun destinations in the Caribbean: Bridgetown, Barbados and La Romana, Dominican Republic.

These new sun destinations are part of WestJet’s enhanced winter schedule, which will also include new service to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, from various cities across Canada. WestJet will announce schedule details for the new Mexican destinations shortly.

WestJet also announced increased frequencies from Toronto to Jamaica, St Lucia and the Dominican Republic.

“With 20 destinations in the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean, we continue to deliver on our international expansion strategy and strengthen our position as a strong and rapidly growing player on the international scene,” said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President of Guest Experience and Marketing.

WestJet is also introducing service to Kamloops, B.C., from Calgary and adding a new nonstop route between Calgary and Grande Prairie. These announcements will bring WestJet’s existing scheduled destinations to 49. By 2013, WestJet will fly to over 65 scheduled destinations.
