Winair is to fly to Montserrat as of October 1, following discussions held between top government officials of Montserrat and Winward Airways Limited.

Chief Minister of Montserrat, Dr Lowell Lewis, and Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Works, met with officials from Winair to discuss the service between Antigua and Montserrat following the discontinuance of the service of the Antigua-based Carib Aviation.

A release from the Montserrat government stated that Winair was willing to provide a service into Montserrat as of October 1 and would be writing formally to the government of Montserrat with its proposals indicating the level of service it would be able to provide.

The St. Maarten-based Winair will also provide information on the financing mechanism that would be required to make the operation feasible using its fleet of Twin Otters.
