Zoom Challenges BA Monopoly with New Bermuda Flights
Zoom Airlines will introduce low-cost direct flights between London Gatwick and Bermuda and will become the first to compete with British Airways on the route since 1967 –breaking the longest-running monopoly on any air route in the world according to the carrier.
Passengers will also be able to plan two-centre breaks in Bermuda and New York, flying direct from London Gatwick to New York’s JFK and returning via Bermuda or vice versa.
“These services will offer people a high quality but affordable way of traveling direct to Bermuda. Competition is long overdue and Zoom’s arrival will provide a welcome alternative for people who’ve had no choice but to pay BA’s high fares to Bermuda for the last 40 years,” said John Boyle, co-owner of Zoom Airlines Ltd.
