VivaColombia is planning a major expansion drive this year as the Ryanair model takes hold in South America’s third biggest aviation market. The Colombian low-cost carrier will boost passengers by 50pc this year as it adds international flights, according to its co-founder.

Air France has announced a significant increase in services to Central and South America, with the launch of a new thrice-weekly service to Brasilia, its third destination in Brazil after Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

The Tobago House of Assembly has revealed an increase in the winter flight services of both British Airways and Monarch Airlines. As of October 26th, two additional BA flights will operate via Antigua to the island of Tobago, increasing capacity on the route by 100 per cent to meet demand.
