Porter Airlines accepted two new Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft today, bringing the company’s fleet to 26. Porter, one of the world’s largest operators of Q400 aircraft, placed the $61 million US order for the two aircraft in March 2011.

American Airlines and American Eagle said they have received the first of a series of court approvals necessary for them to continue normal business operations as they reorganize while under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

During the first 10 months of the year, Avianca Airlines, Taca Airlines and their subsidiaries transported a total of 17,032,526 passengers on their network of national and international routes.

Aeromexico has connected San Antonio, Texas, to Mexico City and more than 40 Mexican destinations for years. During this winter season, Aeromexico is giving travelers more reasons to fly by offering convenient and comfortable flights between San Antonio and Mexico City.

JetBlue Airways continues to add routes servicing the Caribbean market. Most recently, JetBlue announced its plans to add twice-daily nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Kingston, Jamaica squaring the airline off against competitors like Air Jamaica, Caribbean Airlines and Miramar-based Spirit Airlines.

Low cost carrier REDjet is exploring options for a new base as it put the Barbados government on notice that it would pull its headquarters from that country if the foot-dragging in approving more routes continues.
