Winair is to fly to Montserrat as of October 1, following discussions held between top government officials of Montserrat and Winward Airways Limited.
High fuel prices have forced many airlines to reduce the number of their flights and as a result the Caribbean governments are scrambling to make arrangements for tourists to visit their islands.
Air Canada and Spafax Canada, publishers of the airline’s in-flight magazine, enRoute, has launched an entertainment and shopping portal. The new website will allow Air Canada customers, enRoute readers, and travelers from around the world to experience all aspects of enRoute media, including editorial, a complete summary of all in-flight entertainment choices available on the airline’s fleet-wide seatback entertainment system and a unique retail environment available 24/7.
The government of Montserrat is currently working on a number of options to ensure the traveling public has uninterrupted access to the island, following the announcement on the weekend by Carib Aviation that it will be ceasing operations to Montserrat and Barbuda on September 30, 2008.
