KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is charging passengers an extra €50 euros for seats with more legroom, such as exit row seats, in a trial on some long-haul routes, the airline said.

TAM will begin operating a weekly direct flight between Salvador and Paris beginning August 9. The new route will meet the increasing demand of passengers in Bahia, who will be able to use various special services offered by TAM on this flight.

United Airlines and Aloha Airlines revealed tentative plans to expand an existing partnership which would give United a minority stake in Aloha Airlines and a seat on its board of directors. United said its stake “could expand over time.”

Air Jamaica will outsource its Air Jamaica Vacations division to Milwaukee-based Mark Travel Corp., effective August 1, according to George deMercado, vice president of sales for Air Jamaica.

United said it will begin daily nonstop service between Los Angeles and Hong Kong on 747 aircraft and add seasonal nonstop service between Washington (Dulles) and Rio de Janeiro on 767 aircraft in October. Both routes went on sale May 3.
