Continental Airlines, concerned about being dwarfed by larger competitors, would consider a merger if necessary to maintain its competitiveness, its chief executive said.
Caribbean Airlines will offer customers nonstop flights from Port-of-Spain to London, Gatwick Airport on a Boeing 777, through a partnership with British Airways. This nonstop flight will be offered every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
With the popularity of a Caribbean getaway increasing among consumers each year, airlines have again facilitated travelers by adding new flights and increasing the frequencies of existing schedules to the region.
British Airways said last week it had purchased American Airlines’ stake in Spanish carrier Iberia for €19 million ($24.29 million).
It will now be possible to fly from the cities in the Central and South America where TACA operates, including Guatemala, Lima, San Salvador and San Jose to United hubs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington.
