
The British High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean says she does not expect her government to revisit its Air Passenger Duty (APD) rate to the Caribbean any time soon. The APD is an excise duty which is charged to passengers travelling on flights from the UK.

Aviation could be among the losers from a new budget deal agreed following negotiations in the United States congress. Buried in the detail of the budget was an increase in the federal airport security fee that would add $5 to the cost of a typical round-trip flight.
