CND has learned that a CHTA delegation will be visiting Cuba in early May to meet with local high-ranking travel and tourism authorities.

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has appointed Martha Valdivia as Director of Membership Development. Valdivia comes to CHTA with a wealth of knowledge, having worked more than 10 years with diverse stakeholders in the region in the fields of online marketing and distribution.

The strategy represents the collective input of CHTA members who have participated in meetings, focus groups and surveys to help the organization's leadership.

The CHTA survey found more than 50 percent of member hoteliers reported occupancy and average daily rate (ADR) increases in 2015. They want it to go on in 2016.

The Caribbean’s top private sector tourism association has a new leader. Acting President Karolin Troubetzkoy has officially been ratified as the organization’s new president through June 2018.
