Although the U.S. Department of State recently issued a travel warning on Cuba, a number of cruise lines plan to add itineraries to Cuba next year.

The cruise port on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands is on course to partially re-open on November 1 following the Caribbean territory being devastated by hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Victory Cruise Lines announced Wednesday all Cuba port facilities are operational. The planned tour venues and shore excursions are available following a series of hurricanes which impacted the Caribbean.

It used to be that only salty sea-dogs made it to Cuba — or luxury yachters who smuggled themselves in from the Turks and Caicos or Cayman Islands under the radar of the US embargo.

Norwegian Sun’s new all-inclusive four-day cruises to Cuba will depart Port Canaveral each Monday, beginning May 7, 2018. The sailing will take passengers to Key West, Florida each Tuesday.

This year marks the fifth consecutive year of increased superyacht visits to St. Kitts and Nevis. Christophe Harbour has seen a 20 per cent growth of superyachts frequenting the marina, which has now completed its second full season.
