Azamara Cruises has enhanced its offerings for travel agents who use various electronic systems for booking cruises. Azamara bookings were originally made via Celebrity Cruises’ systems, but Azamara has completed a project to separate Azamara Cruises from Celebrity, simplifying and streamlining its cruise-booking process.
Carnival’s pier at Puerta Maya in Cozumel, Mexico, reopened when the Carnival Ecstasy and Carnival Fantasy docked at the facility on Oct. 16. The remained closed since Hurricane Wilma damaged it in October 2005.

Cruise stakeholders in St Kitts and Nevis are looking forward to visits by the 77,000-gross-ton Celebrity Mercury during the 2009-2010 Cruise ship season. The 1870-passenger Celebrity Mercury will make multiple calls to St Kitts’ Port Zante on 11-night; 12 and 15-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
Carnival over the next few months will take three ships out of service to add cabins with balconies. A total of 48 cabins on the Carnival Destiny, Carnival Triumph and Carnival Liberty will be retrofitted with balconies. These cabins currently feature floor-to-ceiling windows.
