The Cayman Islands has approved the first cruise call since cruise travel was suspended in March 2020. It will be the Holland America's Nieuw Statendam.

Jamaica minister of tourism, Edmund Bartlett, has welcomed the return of the cruise sector to the Caribbean destination.

Azamara this week unveiled plans for its new 155-night World Cruise, set to sail in 2024, an epic 40-country itinerary that includes 22 overnight stays and 27 late nights in port.

Carnival Cruise Line resumed service this weekend from Tampa, and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) from Port Canaveral, two Florida ports.

This week, Carnival confirmed that all 22 of its U.S.-based cruise ships will be back in operation by March 2022, a sign of its recovery process.

The German cruise line said that two of its three ships, the Sea Cloud and Sea Cloud II, had been scheduled to sail the Caribbean this winter.
