The number of foreign visitors to Colombia grew 12.1 percent in 2014, according to statistics released by the country’s trade ministry. The growth rate increased substantially compared to 2013 when the country registered a 6.1 percent growth in tourism.

The project would include the creation of free recreational facilities for locals and tourists, from play areas to tables with seating to adequate parking to picnic areas. It is being undertaken by the Tourism Enhancement Fund, the National Environment and Planning Agency and the Urban Development Corporation.

The Embassy of Costa Rica in Switzerland reports high interest in our country at a recent Travel and Tourism Expo in the large city of Basel, which is strategically located right on the border with France and Germany.

Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC) recently launched a Bed and Breakfast (B&B) Program. This new initiative encourages visitors to enjoy well-known cultural attractions, while experiencing an intimate stay.

Established by the Travel Promotion Act (TPA), which was signed into law by President Obama in 2010, Brand USA has been tasked with helping the U.S. draw 100 million annual international visitors by 2021.

For the fourth year in row, Florida broke visitor records, according to Visit Florida’s preliminary estimates for 2014.  According to those estimates, Florida welcomed 97.3 million visitors last year.
