Belize’s record breaking tourist arrivals figures for 2014 show that having a quality product that attracts positive word of mouth is the best marketing strategy there is, according to The Lodge at Chaa Creek’s marketing administrator. The last year also saw a 42.9 percent increase for cruise ship arrivals.

Dominican Republic airports recorded a record 5,141,377 non-resident arrivals in 2014, according to the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic. The figure is an 8.8 percent increase over 2013, representing an additional 451,607 arrivals.

Cuba hopes to increase the flow of Mexican tourists and visitors to the island, this was revealed during a presentation carried out to tour-operators, travel agents and representatives of settled airlines.

The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) commends the Obama Administration for taking another giant step toward allowing Americans to travel freely to Cuba. In regulations issued by the Commerce and Treasury departments, travel agents will be legally unencumbered from selling authorized travel services to Cuba, effective upon publication in the Federal Register.

The arrival of foreign tourists to Argentina via all means of transport increased 7.7 percent in November 2014 compared with the same month last year, according to the latest official figures. The total number of visitors for the first 11 months of 2014 was 13.9 percent higher than for the same period of 2013, finds Argentina’s National Institute for the Promotion of Tourism.
