Guangdong province Foreign Trade director Shoujian Gao said the Caribbean has a great future for Chinese tourists, while calling the Dominican Republic a complete destination with the highest standards.

Haiti has launched work on a tourism development plan for the country’s southern region, according to Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin. The plan, which began Monday, falls under the framework of an agreement with Mexico’s FONATUR organization signed in July.

Grenada Member of Parliament Peter David, who resigned as the country’s tourism minister at the end of April, is urging the country’s government on a new approach. David’s departure was followed by the May resignation of another cabinet member, Foreign Minister Karl Hood.
