The hotels and resorts of Los Cabos are currently luring travelers back to “Land’s End” with travel deals and packages offered through the Los Cabos a la Carte promotion. Now, local businesses around the destination are offering savings for some of Los Cabos’ tourism attractions as well as ground transportation.
“Score 100”, a promotional effort with the short-term goal of bringing 100 top travel agents to gain first-hand knowledge and experience of the destination, hit the target last week as the 100th agent arrived in Antigua and Barbuda.
The Montserrat Tourist Board (MTB) has expanded their marketing initiatives to include neighboring French islands Guadeloupe and Martinique. With the assistance of Market One, the newly appointed French Caribbean representatives to the island, promotional materials including the Rediscover Montserrat brochure and content on the tourism website, have been translated into French.
Senior officials at the Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA) and the Ministry of Tourism are projecting record cruise passenger arrivals for 2010-2011. BTA board member Denis Roach reported that Barbados' cruise industry is on course to achieve a five per cent increase in passenger arrivals for 2009 when compared against the previous year.
After dropping out of the top spot last year, Australia is once again the favorite vacation destination outside the United States for Americans –if cost was not a consideration. Last year was the only year since 1997 that Australia was not in the number one position. Italy, which was number one last year, drops back down to the number two.
More American travelers visited Turkey from January to April 2009 than in the same period in 2008. Turkey, which recently saw the opening of the $1.4 billion Mardan Palace, the most expensive hotel in Europe, continues to weather the worldwide economic storm by showing signs of a strong tourism industry.
