The Middle East will once again get a boost from Emirates with the airline announcing an additional 12 flights per week to major travel hubs in the region; bringing the airline’s total number of weekly flights across the Middle East to 197.
Following the A/H1N1 Influenza outbreak, the China National Tourism Administration has issued travel warnings regarding travel to H1N1-affected areas including North America and Europe, although it has not yet (officially) suspended any of the tours affected. However, some travel agencies have suspended tours to the US out of careful consideration.

The United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation has approved S. 1023, the “Travel Promotion Act of 2009.” The bipartisan legislation, led by Senators Byron Dorgan (D-ND) and John Ensign (R-NV) creates a public-private partnership with a budget of up to $200 million annually to attract international travelers to the United States by better communicating America’s security policies and competing for visitors. According to an analysis by Oxford Economics, the program could drive $4 billion annually in new spending by international travelers to the United States.
