Mexico City Tourism launched a new brand identity for the city at this year’s Tourism Tianguis in Acapulco. The new logo, which features a black ink-like drawing of the city’s statue Angel de la Independencía, colored in yellow, with streaks of yellow, light blue and brown through the words “Ciudad de Mexico,” stacked on top of each other to the right of the statue design and below that, the slogan “Capital en Movimiento,” or “Capital in Movement.”
The colonial destination of Zacatecas, in Mexico, is to receive more than 168 million pesos in tourism investment, mainly to benefit the new “Palacio de las Convenciones,” which will receive 40 percent of the funding. In addition to this federal government investment, Mexico’s National Tourism Promotion Council is to finance a 22.5 million peso tourism promotion program for the destination.
While the H1N1 virus has not been reported in the Caribbean, Aruba has already begun adopting measures for greater surveillance to prevent the virus from spreading to the region.
