The Jordan Tourism Board has signed an agreement DHL Express under which the international courier company will help promote Jordan as a tourism destination. Under the agreement, signed by JTB Managing Director Nayef Al-Fayez and DHL Express General Manager Turgay Sarikaya, DHL will place a sticker of Petra, printed, paid for and provided by JTB, on all outbound shipments and packages from Jordan for an entire year.

During the winter season, Cuba said it drew a record 809,937 visitors, a 2 percent increase from a year earlier. In 2008, Cuba welcomed more than 2.3 million visitors, up 9 percent over 2007 and second only to the Dominican Republic’s 3.9 million visitors last year.
Five Caribbean countries reported double-digit drops in winter tourist arrivals compared with the prior year, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization. Nine of the 12 countries and territories that submitted figures posted decreases.
Rosecita Jeffers returned to the St. Kitts Tourism Authority as CEO in August after a hiatus of five years, during which she ran her own event-planning business. It is good to be back, she said. But for Jeffers, as for most tourism officials, the last eight months “have proven a real challenge.”
