US Market chooses Greece as its Best Tourism Destination 2025

According to Global Traveler magazine, Greece has been named the Best Tourism Destination for American travelers for the fifth consecutive year. The recognition was announced as part of the GT Tested Reader Survey Awards 2025, one of the travel industry’s most established reader-voted awards.

The U.S. market once again selected its favorite destination, with Greece securing the top position in the 22nd edition of the awards. Readers voted for their preferred winners across the international travel sector, including categories such as best worldwide destination, MICE cities, airlines, airports, hotels and hotel chains, travel service providers, and credit cards.

Voting for the 2025 awards took place between December 12, 2024, and August 31, 2025, reflecting sustained consumer preference and brand loyalty within the American travel market.

The podium was completed by Ireland in second place and Spain in third. Greece officially received the titles of “Best Tourism Destination 2025” and “Best Tourism Destination for the Fifth Consecutive Year” during a ceremony held on December 17, 2025, in Miami. The awards were accepted on behalf of Greece by Konstantinos Charokopos, representing the Greek National Tourism Organization Office for North America.
