Air Premia Adopts GE Aerospace Software to Enhance Fuel Efficiency, Safety

Air Premia, the hybrid airline led by CEO Yoo Myung-seop, has unveiled its latest initiative to boost sustainability and safety. On September 2nd, the airline introduced GE Aerospace's integrated software solution, a move that is set to improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions significantly.
The new system encompasses three advanced software programs: Fuel Insight, Safety Insight, and FlightPulse®. Fuel Insight leverages GE Aerospace's Event Measurement System (EMS) to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing fuel efficiency, potentially improving it by 1.4% annually. This enhancement is projected to cut carbon emissions by 5,916 tons per year based on the airline's current operations.
Safety Insight is designed to analyze aircraft data to identify and mitigate potential risks, thereby strengthening operational safety. Meanwhile, FlightPulse® offers pilots a configurable Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) application that delivers insights on fuel efficiency and flight safety. By integrating data from Fuel Insight and Safety Insight, FlightPulse® allows pilots to make informed decisions, improving both safety and operational effectiveness.
Haejihn Lim, head of Air Premia's Flight Operations Engineering team, highlighted the significance of this introduction: "Air Premia is the first airline in South Korea to deploy GE Aerospace's integrated software solution, including FlightPulse®, Safety Insight, and Fuel Insight." He emphasized, "This integration will be instrumental in reducing emissions and advancing our sustainability objectives."
This strategic move underscores Air Premia's commitment to enhancing its operational performance while adhering to environmental goals.
