American Airlines to Start Nonstop Guyana-JFK Service

Travelers can now have more access to Guyana as American Airlines will begin a direct service from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Georgetown, Guyana, from December.

Boeing 737-800 will operate the new service from JFK daily. It will have 160 seats that will include 16 seats in first class.

There will be more entertainment options free live TV and the ability to stream Apple Music while on board and the aircraft will also features access to power. 

The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority is yet to approve it. Last year, American began operating four weekly flights to Guyana from Miami.

Because of the strong demand the airline plans to increase daily service in the summer and will operate on a larger aircraft with 172 seats this winter.

Brian Mullis, director of the Guyana Tourism Authority said that Guyana welcomed American Airlines in 2018 with nonstop flights from Miami International Airport.

Through the new route there will be additional ways traveler can access Guyana, experience its tourism product and discover its beauty.

He went on saying that with these daily flights, American Airlines will make Guyana more accessible to the world and its key tourism markets.
