WestJet already connects Canada and Cozumel with a new direct flight
As of 20 December, airline WestJet has launched a new direct flight connecting Calgary and Cozumel, strengthening the island’s air connectivity during the peak travel season.
This new route is expected to boost Canadian visitor arrivals and enhance travel convenience to one of the Caribbean’s most popular sun-and-beach destinations.
The service will operate once a week using a Boeing 737 MAX 8, with a total capacity of 174 passengers, including 12 seats in premium class.
Canadian tourism continues to favour seasonal travel, particularly to warm-weather destinations during the winter months. Within this strategy, WestJet is expanding its sun-and-beach network, reinforcing visitor flows that traditionally originated from Toronto and now extending them to include Calgary.
WestJet has also recetnly boosted flights to Panama, Nicaraga and La Habana.
