Wingo Introduces “Sitting Together” Service to Enhance Couples’ Travel Experience

Wingo is revolutionizing air travel in Colombia with its new “Sitting Together” service, designed to improve the flying experience for couples. This innovative feature allows passengers traveling together to secure adjacent seats during the automatic seat selection process, offering significant savings compared to purchasing seats separately.
The “Sitting Together” option, though seemingly simple, provides travelers with the chance to sit next to their companion while saving up to 40% compared to the cost of acquiring two separate seats. This enhancement reflects Wingo’s commitment to meeting the needs of its customers, who value traveling together.
This new service is part of Wingo’s broader efforts to enhance its product offering. Recent improvements include an increase in checked baggage allowance by three kilograms and the ability to pre-select onboard meals at check-in.
Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s Vice President of Commercial and Planning, stated, “With the introduction of the ‘Sitting Together’ option, we are addressing our travelers’ desire to fly together. This addition is a further enhancement to our service for 2024, following the baggage weight increase, the launch of Wingo Vacations, and the introduction of the option to pre-select onboard meals through our website.”
The “Sitting Together” service is unique in Colombia and is available across all 36 of Wingo’s routes. It is important to note that this option is only available for bookings with two passengers and is applicable to fare families that do not include seat selection. Additionally, this feature is only offered through digital channels and the airline’s contact center.
Jiménez added, “Beyond expanding our route network, Wingo understands that what the Colombian public values most is an airline service that reflects genuine improvements. ‘Sitting Together’ is one of those details that passengers appreciate, helping them rediscover their love for flying.”
