Cancun Travel Mart 2025 Opens Its 37th Edition, Strengthening Caribbean Tourism

With an opening ceremony held in the Miramar Ballroom of the Iberostar Selection Cancún, the 37th edition of Cancun Travel Mart (CTM) officially kicked off today, reaffirming its position as one of the most significant business-to-business events for the Caribbean’s tourism industry.
The three-day gathering brings together more than 500 participants, including hoteliers, tour operators, international buyers, and travel service providers. Its main goal is to strengthen commercial ties, close strategic deals, and promote Mexico as a leading tourism destination in the Americas.
During the inauguration, government officials and industry representatives emphasized the event’s importance at a pivotal time for the sector, which is preparing to leverage the tourism momentum expected from the FIFA World Cup 2026. They also highlighted the need to continue diversifying markets and advancing toward a more sustainable and value-driven tourism model.
The CTM 2025 program features two full days of pre-scheduled business meetings, networking sessions, product presentations, and social events. A distinctive aspect of the fair is that buyers host the booths, while suppliers visit them for meetings — a format that minimizes costs and enhances efficiency.
In his remarks, Rodrigo de la Peña, president of the Hotel Association of Cancún, Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres, said that events like CTM “allow us to refine strategies, strengthen alliances, and position the Mexican Caribbean in the world’s top source markets.” Meanwhile, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, Secretary of Tourism for Quintana Roo, stated that the event represents “an opportunity to consolidate Cancún as a hub for tourism business and an international showcase for Mexico’s hospitality industry.”
This year’s Cancún Travel Mart aims not only to facilitate hotel and service contracts but also to encourage innovation in traveler experiences, promote digital transformation, and reinforce Cancún’s image as a global tourism powerhouse. With high expectations and a packed agenda, the event promises tangible results for tourism stakeholders in Mexico and across the wider Caribbean region.
