Central America Joins WTE Miami to Win Over the U.S. Traveler

From September 17 to 18, Central America will take center stage at the World Travel Expo Miami (WTE), where the Central America Tourism Agency (CATA) is leading the regional presence with a stand that showcases the cultural and natural wealth of seven countries.
At this international platform, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and the Dominican Republic are presented as a mosaic of experiences increasingly appealing to the U.S. traveler. One of the main draws is geographic proximity: within just a few flight hours from major U.S. hubs, visitors can access a region that combines diversity, authenticity, and hospitality.
The Central America stand at WTE Miami is designed as a strategic business hub, facilitating meetings with wholesalers, tour operators, travel agents, and buyers from the U.S. market. Professionals will gain direct access to the regional tourism offer, which ranges from world-class archaeological sites and nature and adventure experiences to living culture, authentic gastronomy, and the unique chance to enjoy both the Caribbean and the Pacific.
As part of the event, CATA will unveil its new international campaign, “Central America Gateway”, an initiative that positions the region as a transformative gateway. The campaign highlights experiences designed to renew body and spirit, from natural landscapes and unforgettable adventures to cultural richness and distinctive flavors—all just a few hours from the U.S.
The participation of the Central America Tourism Agency at WTE reaffirms the importance of the United States as the region’s main source market and reflects the collective effort of Central American countries to strengthen commercial ties and create new growth opportunities through a joint strategy.
With this initiative, Central America aims not only to consolidate its position in the U.S. market but also to project itself as a competitive, sustainable, and diverse destination, ready to meet the evolving demands of international travelers.
