Routes Americas 2025

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) and its member destinations will take center stage at Routes Americas 2025, the premier air service development event for the region. Taking place from February 10-12 at Atlantis Paradise Island, The Bahamas, this gathering of key industry players will focus on enhancing Caribbean air connectivity, exploring new route opportunities, and driving tourism expansion.

With over 900 senior professionals from airlines, airports, and destinations attending, this event marks a significant opportunity for The Bahamas to reinforce its commitment to global air access and sustainable tourism growth. The influx of delegates is also expected to benefit the local economy, impacting sectors such as transportation, hospitality, retail, and excursions.

CTO’s Strategic Role at Routes Americas 2025

CTO will maintain a high-profile presence throughout the event, hosting a dedicated booth where member destinations can engage with media and industry professionals for interviews and discussions. Additionally, CTO will host the official luncheon on February 10, featuring an address by CTO Chairman Ian Gooding-Edghill, Barbados’ Minister of Tourism and International Transport, who will outline plans for strengthening Caribbean airlift and tourism resilience.

CTO Secretary-General Dona Regis-Prosper will lead strategic meetings with airline executives, advocating for improved intra-regional travel, enhanced global connectivity, and expanded international air service to the Caribbean. She will also moderate a high-level Ministerial Dialogue on “Shaping the Future of Caribbean Tourism”, featuring:

  • Ian Gooding-Edghill (Barbados) – CTO Chairman
  • Valérie Damaseau (Saint Martin) – President, Saint Martin Tourist Office
  • Kenneth Bryan (Cayman Islands) – Deputy Premier & Minister for Tourism & Ports
  • Chester Cooper (The Bahamas) – Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation

A Platform for Collaboration and Growth

Strengthening air connectivity across the Caribbean requires a collaborative effort between aviation and tourism stakeholders. Routes Americas 2025 provides an invaluable platform to forge new partnerships, unlock fresh opportunities, and develop strategic initiatives that will bolster sustainable tourism and economic growth throughout the region,” said Regis-Prosper.

As The Bahamas hosts this prestigious event, CTO and its member destinations will play a vital role in shaping discussions on regional air service competitiveness, tourism development, and public-private sector collaborations. With airlift being a cornerstone of economic prosperity in the Caribbean, this forum is expected to foster new airline agreements, increased accessibility, and positioning the region as a top-tier travel destination.

Following Routes Americas 2025, CTO’s Board of Directors and Ministerial Council will convene on February 13 at Atlantis Paradise Island for their first official meeting of the year, setting the course for future tourism strategies in the region.
